Update Process
The Landscapes2 plan update has been and will continue to be an iterative, cooperative process. Progress can be monitored on-line throughout the process, and there will be opportunities to offer your comments, ideas and concerns about the update. Input will be invited during both the drafting and plan acceptance phases. The update will occur in three phases:

Phase 1 – Initial Public Input
This phase was completed in May of 2007 and involved two key activities:
Phase 2 – Draft Plan Update
This phase will involve several steps:
- The refinement of planning issues facing the county with the assistance of a Plan Steering Committee
- Supporting information, including sites where more data can be reviewed, will be posted on the website
- A series of list serve e-mails will occur to keep interested parties up-to-date on the progress being made on the plan
- The drafting of plan update reports that will be posted to this site for public review and comment
- The development of planning scenarios using Geographic Information System (GIS) technology
- The preparation of a new Livable Landscapes map
- Creation of a public review draft of full Landscapes2 plan update
Phase 3 – Plan, Public Input, Acceptance, and Adoption
This phase will consist of the following steps:
- A series of public information meetings held by the Chester County Planning Commission
- An interactive, on-line version of the draft plan update
- A public hearing held by the Board of County Commissioners
- Adoption of the plan update by the Commissioners at a public meeting
