Transportation Improvements Inventory 2011 (PDF, 329 KB)
The Transportation Improvements Inventory (TII) is a comprehensive record of known transportation needs and projects within Chester County. The TII is updated biennially and contains projects that have been recommended to the Planning Commission by municipalities and other stakeholders over time. It includes 464 proposed roadway, bridge, bicycle and pedestrian, freight, and transit projects with a total estimated cost of $5.4 billion.
Transportation Improvement Program (TIP)
The Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) is the regionally agreed-upon list of priority transportation projects, as required by federal law. The TIP shows estimated costs and schedule by project phase and is financially constrained based on the amount of federal, state, and local funds that will be available for transportation projects in the region. The TIP includes roadway, bridge, public transit, bicycle, pedestrian, and freight related transportation projects. The TIP is adopted by the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC), which is the federally designated Metropolitan Planning Organization for the Philadelphia--Camden--Trenton Metropolitan Area. The TIP can be amended after it is adopted and is updated every two years. Draft FY2013 - FY2016 TIP Released for Public Comment
The Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC) has released the Draft FY2013 TIP for public comment from May 3, 2012 to June 1, 2012. The Draft TIP includes approximately 385 projects totaling over $3.7 billion of investment in transportation during the next four years in the five Pennsylvania counties of the DVRPC region. There are over 50 projects in Chester County totaling over $297 million for the next four years. The Draft FY2013 TIP documents for public comment are available on the DVRPC website, including a list and map of the projects in Chester County. DVRPC is hosting a public meeting on May 15, 2012 from 4pm to 6pm to provide general information and receive comments. Written comments will be accepted until June 1, 2012 and can be emailed to tip-plan-comments@dvrpc.org or submitted using an online form. The TIP will be presented for adoption by the DVRPC Board at the June Board meeting.
Draft FY11 - FY14 TIP
The FY11 - FY14 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for the five Pennsylvania counties in the DVRPC region includes almost 400 projects totaling over $2.9 billion for the next four years. There are 60 projects in Chester County programmed with over $390 million for the next four years. Copies of the FY11 - FY14 TIP are available on the DVRPC website, including a list and map of the projects in Chester County.

2011 Transportation Priority Projects (PDF, 2 MB)
As input for the development of the 2013 Transportation Program, representatives from various Chester County organizations presented this list of the County's transportation priority projects to the State Transportation Commission (STC) in September 2011. The list was supported by the Chester County Commissioners, State Legislative Delegation, and Planning Commission.

SEPTA's Capital Program (PDF) and Chester County Capital Projects (PDF)
Every year SEPTA develops a budget for capital improvements, such as rail cars, buses and stations. Chester County capital projects are then published separately.
PennDOT’s PA Mobility Plan
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has recently updated their statewide comprehensive plan. The PA Mobility Plan provides direction for transportation through 2030.
